Construction of the first building at Udokan Mining & Metallurgical Plant is completed
Installation of the roof and sandwich panels on the outside steel structures of the Reagents Preparation building is completed at Udokan Mining & Metallurgical Plant site. The facility is designed to prepare and store the reagents used in hydrometallurgical ore processing. The first steel column of the building was erected in late December of 2019.
Another 80MW power transformer installed in high-altitude substation “Udokan MMP”
On August 24, 2020 another 80MW power transformer was delivered to the “Udokan MMP” 220/35/10kV substation construction site.
BMC’s early start of Udokan copper deposit development
The development of two open-pit areas is scheduled within the first phase of Udokan Project development. Earlier on, the project engineering design saw a change in terms of shifting the deposit capital development dates from 2021 to 2020.
Julia Shabala elected the Chairperson of the Public Council with the Federal Service for Environmental Control
Last Tuesday the first meeting of the Public Council with the Federal Service for Environmental Control was held in the premises of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. Members of the Council unilaterally voted for Julia Shabala as the Chairperson. She succeeded herself in this chair. Julia Shabala has been heading the Council since October 2016.
Construction of Bridge across Nirungnakan is completed on Udokan Mine road
Baikal Mining Company has finished the construction of a 60-meter bridge structure across Nirungnakan river.
Components of ball mills for ore grinding delivered to Udokan site
Udokan process plant construction site has received Ball Mill components to include large-size shell sections, main bearings, and other parts of process equipment supplied by a Finnish company - Outotec. First lots of equipment are arriving from Finland and Poland.
