BMC and Human Capital Assets Development Agency in the Far East Sign a Partnership Agreement

The subject of agreement is cooperation with a view to provide Baikal Mining Company planning to ramp up Udokan Mining and Metallurgical Plant to full design capacity by 2022 with human resources.

Baikal Mining Company is interested in hiring highly professional experts for production. By the start of commissioning works in mid-2021 about 1,500 people shall work at the project, and by the moment the Plant is ramped up to full design capacity the manpower shall exceed 2,000 people,” General Director of Baikal Mining Company Yury Ryabov pointed out.

According to him, the company, first and foremost, relies on engagement of employees residing in Zabaikalye territory, but it is ready to consider experts in the Far Eastern labour market in whole, too.

Currently BMC is performing head-hunting and hire of engineering experts experienced in construction of major mining and metallurgical facilities.

As General Director of Human Capital Assets Development Agency in the Far East Sergey Khovrat noted: “Our cooperation with Baikal Mining Company is an example of work the Agency performs in Zabaikalye with regard to providing the employers with qualified manpower with the use of actual human resources engagement tools.”

Major lines of cooperation within the framework of the signed agreement are as follows: information and organizational and methodical support in hiring staff at the enterprise; research and development activities in the area of human capital asset development and HR management at the enterprise; introduction of best practices into further vocational education and occupational training in the Far Eastern Federal District, implementation of projects in these areas; replication and scaling of successful educational practices in the interests of Baikal Mining Company.
