IСS Holding and Baikal Mining Company will establish an Innovation Center in Chita

The Innovation Center will be established with the assistance of the Government of Zabaykalsky Krai. The Center will aim at providing the region with IT specialists, introducing new education models in Zabaykalsky Krai, developing a system for young talent training, including application of best practices in main and additional education.

«Digitalization, digital penetration into all aspects of human life result nowadays in global changes. Digital technologies are literally used to develop economy, their introduction is one of the most important conditions for the breakthrough development of the region. Up-to-date digital infrastructure to be created will facilitate a groundbreaking jump in both usage of digital skills and training of professionals. The Innovation Center in Chita is the first project in this paramount sector for the Krai. Its creation will give an impetus to development in all industries starting from mining industry to medicine, it will become the first step toward new up-to-date economy of Zabaykalsky Krai», Mikhail Churkin (acting Deputy Chairman of the Government of Zabaykalsky Krai for investment development) says.

The Center will unite representatives of education, science, business. High Tech entrepreneurs and members of public organizations will also join it. The functions of the Center include expert review of innovations, evaluation and selection of best practices, work on new development models for the region.

«Modern technologies have far-reaching effects on the regions development, they change management models, form new approaches to organization of separate activities. Today, signing of the Agreement has started our strategic cooperation with Zabaykalsky Krai. Our experience has shown that many regions have significant potential for digital technologies development and introduction. We hope, that the planned opening of the Innovation Center in Chita will boost the digital potential of the Krai and let discover a good deal of true IT talents», Anton Cherepennikov (General Director of ICS Holding) believes.
According to Valery Kazikaev (Chairman of BMC’s Board of Directors), the Center will allow not only implementation of the national technological initiative in Zabaykalye, but will also promote development of bankability and entrepreneurship in the region.

«It will become the site for early career guidance for young people as well as for the industrial projects», Valery Kazikaev noted, «We rely on the Center to become an HR blacksmith shop for Udokan Mining and Metallurgical Plant where the most current machines, technologies and equipment are to be used to run the Facility».
